Redline Time Attack hosted at Shenandoah

Redline Time Attack has been bringing their event to Summit Point’s Shenandoah Circuit for the last couple of years and did so again this year. The two-day event consisted of an HPDE/Test-n-Tune on Saturday and Sunday’s actual timed event. And despite being in the month of August, the weather was incredible both days.

Several “NERD’s” were instructing and even more were participating in the HPDE, time attack, or both. Being there only on Saturday to instruct(not driving), I can vouch that the track claimed both motors and vehicles. From what has been relayed, Sunday was no different. As is always the case, I’m glad to hear that no one was seriously injured.

It was good to see drivers that I hadn’t seen in some time: Jeff and Josh from Pittsburgh; Tom from Philly; Steve from NY. I didn’t really get the chance to meet with the guys from St. Louis, err, I mean Wisconsin. :D Another S2000 owner drove in from western Kentucky. Of course, the regulars were there… Pete, George, Rob, Mani, Calvin, Lou, and I’m sure I’m missing some others. New-to-the-track were Dobring from NYC and Kelvin. Hope you guys enjoyed it. We finished up Saturday with dinner at some diner in Charles Town near the horse track. Good eats and great desserts!!!

I haven’t seen Sunday’s results yet, but do know that last year’s overall record time did not fall. I believe I heard 1:33.xx was FTD. That’s about 4 seconds slower than last year. I do know that Scot Burner finished second in Modified RWD with a time in the 1:37.xx range. All “NERD” cars were safe on Sunday and that alone is a victory!

Next up, NASA’s event on Summit Main this weekend.

PS. If you have times from this event, we’d love to have you submit them!

Top Lap Time Submissions Updated

If you’ve submitted a lap time, it has now been added. Such a delay should not occur again. I have only myself to blame. I want to thank you for taking the time to submit them.

Whether you’ve recorded times via a camcorder or a transponder, please forward your times from this year. I guarantee it won’t take months again!

NERD/R-CDC Shenandoah Track Event a Success

Wow! All I can say is, WOW!” A big hand needs to be given to all involved: participants, instructors, control, and organizers! What could have been a day of disaster turned into an excellent learning opportunity. I’ll have a full recap and photos up later today(I hope!).

Headquarters for 4/28 Event: Holiday Inn Express-Charles Town

For those that are coming from afar or just don’t want to make a long day longer, we will be using the Holiday Inn Express in Charles Town as our hotel. The rate for Sunday night is $82 + tax. When calling 304-725-1330 for your reservation(s), be sure to ask for “in-house” reservations and mention that you’d like the Summit Point rate. If anyone has any difficulties securing a room at that rate, please e-mail us or ask for Ext. 1002 while on the phone with the hotel.

Many of us will be joining for dinner Sunday early evening. This would be a good time to meet some of your fellow trackmates/instructors. Actual location to follow.
